A bit of history

Born the oldest of four boys, responsibility for my younger siblings came quick. With that, came the school of learning how to lead, as well as what were the right and wrong things on how to lead effectively.

I grew up attending and serving at a Pentecostal church in rural Kentucky. The music and singing was the hook that kept me in church. I wanted to be a better musician and read music so I joined the school band, as well as the school chorus. I bounced around from instrument to instrument until I landed on the piano. I could never get anyone to play for me when I sang, like I was feeling while singing so I took a couple of years’ lessons, before the piano teacher said I had the ear for it and she stopped teaching me. So, it was then and there I began working on my skills that would later be used in my ministry for His glory.

It wasn’t long until I realized the music and singing was not enough. As an early teenager, I gave my heart to Jesus and not long after felt the calling into the ministry. Singing about the Lord and then preaching about his Amazing Grace seemed to be what the Will of God had in store for me.

I am a Born Again, Spirit-Filled Believer. I am a loving husband to my wife, Michelle. I am a father to five amazing children (Alex, Brad, Chelsea, Christian & Ethan) who have all given their heart to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am also a new grandfather of two with two more expected this year.

Worship Leadership

I’ve been in some form of Worship Leadership (Minister of Music, Associate Pastor, Music Director or Worship Pastor) for almost 40 years. I’ve led choirs, orchestras, special music groups, selected and trained vocalists and musicians. I’ve taught worship seminars and have been guest speaker at many churches and conventions in several states. I am currently providing a ministry for my network of worship leaders whereby we offer them a weekend off or vacation to recharge their batteries, while we take care of their worship duties and congregations so they can relax and not worry about if things are getting taken care of properly.

In 2011, I began my study at Lee University in Cleveland, TN and and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Church Leadership (with a concentration in Music and Worship). I am currently enrolled at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN and plan to graduate in May of 2023 with a Master of Arts degree in Church Ministries (with a concentration in Discipleship and Church Leadership). In the fall of 2023 I plan to enroll in the Doctor of Ministry program for Worship Studies at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
